Great design does not always equal great performance. We help make sure it does.

Sustainable Design & Design Peer Review

Our sustainable design consulting services identify and integrate viable sustainable design strategies into projects to optimize overall energy and environmental performance. We offer breadth and depth of expertise and experience, the ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders and project team members, and exceptional energy and daylighting analysis capabilities. We promote an integrated sustainable design process starting with a sustainable design workshop / charrette. Bringing all primary stakeholders and team members into the planning and design process early sets the stage for the effective integration of sustainable design principles and strategies into all aspects of a project.

In fact, architecture can have a great influence on key energy demands such as ventilation, lighting, cooling and heating. When thoroughly informed about the complex synergies between building design and energy use, architects and designers can make informed and cost effective primary decisions about energy savings features in their buildings. In order to make these decisions, it is particularly important to understand the energy tradeoffs in the early stages of a project.

In its design peer reviews services , EEG provide an objective look at proposed designs of a new facility and its energy systems by our independent team of engineers.  Design reviews are cost-effective as they can identify errors in the design phase and result in lower installation costs, enhanced energy efficiency, and reduced long-term maintenance expenses.
We customize our scope of work to fit project needs and offer cost-saving efficiencies by keeping multiple scopes under one roof.
As clients target energy conservation to improve their carbon footprint and reduce operational costs, energy modeling is an increasingly important part of an integrated design process.  Energy modeling uses computer-based tools to simulate the energy use of a design, assisting to optimize design decisions and prioritize strategies that will have the greatest impact on a building's energy use.  Energy modeling is used throughout the design process, becoming progressively refined as a design develops. A simplified model is used during conceptual design to test the energy implications of building siting, massing, and orientation.  As a design develops, modeling is used to assess the impacts of more detailed decisions, ensuring that building systems, from envelope thermal performance to HVAC systems selection, are environmentally and economically optimized.  As part of its design peer reviews and energy modeling services, EEG assists its clients throughout their LEED certification,
Finally, EEG undertakes all the energy analysis and reporting needed to be submitted to available funding schemes and agencies.
