The Savoy is a luxury hotel located in the Strand in the City of Westminster in central London, England. The Savoy opened originally in 1889 and was the first luxury hotel in Britain, introducing electric lights throughout the building, electric lifts, bathrooms in most of the lavishly furnished rooms, constant hot and cold running water, and many other innovations.
The hotel has undergone a major refurbishment between 2007 and 2011 with a full upgrade to the facility including its interior and MEP infrastructure. The SAVOY is a Grade II building with a total built-up area of 37,378m2. It includes 195 guest rooms and 72 suites, 7 F&B outlets along with more than 2,141m2 of function and meeting areas.
The Savoy has invested substantially in energy efficiency from a comprehensive LED retrofit, a CHP, VFDs on most fans, and pumps among others.
EEG completed an Investment Grade Energy Audit covering all the infrastructure and operations of the property with the focus on optimizing all the existing technical operations and developing a road map of Energy Efficiency Measures with detailed technical and financial analysis. The various actions would be used as a guiding plan for the next 5 years for the continuous energy management and upgrades of the Savoy.
The project was completed in December 2019.
