EEG is pleased to announce that it has completed the Ashrae Level 2 energy audits for 9 public hospitals and is currently expanding the work to an additional 5 similar properties.
The project is part of the "Solar for Health" program which is implemented by UNDP Lebanon and funded by KfW Bankengruppe, and in coordination with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health. The program aims to have public hospitals become more cost-effective, more comfort-related, and environmentally responsible, especially with respect to energy use.
The 14 targeted properties cover virtually all the regions of Lebanon and its various climatic zones, from Bint Jbeil in the south to Halba in the north, and Baalbak/Hermel down to the coastal areas.

The energy audits help provide a thorough list of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs) with all the key performance and financial indicators. A number of these EEMs are further developed into tendered projects for full implementation under the same program.
As part of the same project, EEG is also working on an Energy Strategy for the Public Health Care Sector in Lebanon which will be published by UNDP Lebanon in the forthcoming months.
