As part of the luxury hospitality company's commitment to environmental sustainability and the ‘Four Seasons for Good’ program', the hotel engaged EEG to conduct an ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit, a water audit, and the formulation of a zero-carbon transition plan. The successful completion of this project resulted in a roadmap of actionable steps, helping the properties in their journey toward sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Moreover, Four Seasons Hotels Bogotá, following the "Four Seasons for Good" program are committed to preserving and regenerating the environment and leaving a positive, enduring impact on the local community, to sustainability with notable initiatives such as:

  • Efficient water fixtures: Implementation of low-flow faucets and showers to reduce water consumption. Regular showers in Bogotá typically generate approximately 17 liters of water per minute. In contrast, the showers in both hotels currently produce 9.3 liters per minute, and they are actively working to further reduce this water consumption.
  • Awareness programs: Promoting the importance of water conservation among employees and guests. To actively monitor and uphold their commitment to minimizing environmental impact across both properties, the Sustainability Committee has been established. This committee comprises members from various departments within the hotel and is responsible for promoting awareness and implementing ongoing initiatives that position us as agents of change in support of the environment and responsible consumption.
  • Extensive use of LED lighting throughout Recognizing the importance of electrical energy consumption, both properties are currently in the process of transitioning to 100% LED lighting. To date, 70% of our bulbs have already been replaced with LED alternatives.
  • Garden maintenance: Use of native plants and efficient irrigation systems to minimize water use.  They have implemented a systematic irrigation system programmed to water the plants three times a day, with each session lasting no longer than five minutes.
  • Consumption monitoring: They conduct periodic audits to evaluate and improve their energy water usage, and they use a Utility platform that is tasked with monitoring the consumption of water, gas, electricity, and other resources, as well as assessing the carbon footprint associated with the operations of the two hotels
