EEG completed the Energy Audit for Raffles Seychelles

Nestled on the pristine shores of Praslin Island, Raffles Seychelles offers an unparalleled blend of luxury and natural beauty. The resort features 87 spacious villas that have  contemporary design with a connection to the surrounding nature. Each villa boasts open-plan layouts, private plunge pools, and breathtaking panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Spanning a 160,000-square-meter property, the resort provides world-class amenities, including a luxurious spa with 13 treatment pavilions, 6 F&B outlets, direct beachfront access, and an infinity pool.

Beyond its luxury offerings, Raffles Seychelles has positioned itself as a beacon of sustainability, embracing a comprehensive strategy to protect the island's unique ecosystem while reducing its ecological footprint. Among its key sustainability initiatives are:

  • Reef Restoration: Supporting marine biodiversity and coral health.
  • Water Purification Systems: Eliminating the use of over 260,000 plastic bottles, saving more than 130,000 kg of plastic waste.
  • Eliminating Single-Use Plastics: Since 2019, the resort has nearly eradicated disposable plastics, fostering an environmentally conscious operational model.
  • Ecosystem Protection: Partnering with conservation organizations like TRASS (Terrestrial Restoration Action Society Seychelles) to safeguard the island's vibrant flora and fauna.
  • Farm-to-Table Dining: Collaborating with local suppliers to craft meals that embody the true essence of Seychelles.
  • Reducing Emissions: The resort is actively pursuing various energy efficiency an carbon emissions reduction programs. It Is already enjoying a 100% LED light with comprehensive solar water systems in all villas.

As part of its commitment to sustainability and in alignment with Accor’s sustainability  Program, the resort partnered with EEG - Energy Efficiency Group  to conduct an ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit and develop a comprehensive decarbonization plan. This initiative resulted in a roadmap of energy efficiency measures with the potential to achieve a 29% reduction in the resort’s carbon footprint, a significant milestone in its sustainability journey.
