In October 2016, EEG led 3 days of training on energy auditing and energy efficiency organized by MEXA (Mauritius Export Association) . The objectives of the training were to train Energy Officers on how to perform Energy Audits generally and how to apply the procedures in their respective industries which will help streamline the efforts of energy efficiency in Mauritius Industries.
The needs of the training came from the 2010 Energy Efficiency Bill and Section 19 of the Act proclaimed in January 2013 which specifies the requirements regarding energy audits and associated energy auditors
On January 23 and 24, EEG completed a 2nd training mission covering in 2 days advanced energy auditing with energy efficiency calculations on several key efficiency measures along with the introduction of the Measurement and Verification of the savings, namely through the IPMVP protocol.
On January 25th, EEG led a workshop on 'How to HIGG’ for the textile industry. Developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) , the Higg Index is a suite of tools that enables brands, retailers, and facilities of all sizes — at every stage in their sustainability journey — to accurately measure and score a company or product’s sustainability performance
