EEG conducted energy audits for both The Opus by Zaha Hadid and ME by Meliá Dubai

The Opus by Zaha Hadid in Dubai is a landmark mixed-use building developed by Omniyat Properties. It is known for its striking cuboid form with a central void, creating a futuristic, fluid appearance. Its glass and steel facade and dramatic night-time illumination enhance its iconic status. The Opus houses the ME Dubai Hotel, along with offices, residences, and retail spaces, all reflecting Hadid's signature organic design with a total built-up area of 84,345m2.

The building features a four-story bridge connecting its two towers, embodying advanced engineering and sustainable technology, making it a testament to Hadid's architectural legacy and Dubai's commitment to innovation.

ME by Meliá Dubai is situated within The Opus by Zaha Hadid and is a luxury hotel epitomizing avant-garde design and sophisticated comfort. The hotel features interiors by Zaha Hadid, which are marked by fluid, organic forms and innovative aesthetics that reflect her unique architectural vision. It offers upscale accommodations, including lavish suites with panoramic views, and is complemented by high-end dining, cutting-edge wellness facilities, and vibrant social spaces. As the centerpiece of The Opus, ME Dubai embodies a seamless blend of contemporary luxury and artistic flair, making it a key destination for discerning travelers in Dubai.

In their aim to optimize their energy consumption and reduce their sustainability footprint as well as to solve their Low ΔT situation, both the Opus and Me by Melia Dubai were looking to have a complete energy assessment of their entities.

EEG completed ASHRAE Level 2 Audits for both entities separately, delivering a thorough analysis of their existing infrastructure and operations. The audits identified a detailed set of Energy Efficiency Measures, concentrating on overall optimization and specifically addressing the persistent low ΔT syndrome. The project was finalized in May 2024.
