EEG in partnership with A to Z Services Completes Level 2 Energy Audit for Iconic UDC Tower in Doha

The UDC Tower, a prominent 200m tall, 42-storey office building and the headquarters of the United Development Company, stands as an iconic gateway structure at the entrance of The Pearl Island in Doha, Qatar. Known for its modern design integrating traditional Islamic motifs, the tower is a recognized leader in sustainability. It was the first building on The Pearl Island to achieve GSAS Gold Operations certification—the highest regional rating from the Gulf Organization for Research and Development (GORD)—for implementing sustainability best practices and achieving full indoor air quality compliance.

Level 2 Energy Audit Yields Significant Savings Potential

In a bid to further optimize utility consumption, Energy & Environmental Growth (EEG), in partnership with A to Z Services, successfully completed a Level 2 Energy Audit of the UDC Tower in September 2025—the audit aimed to assess the current operation and infrastructure and propose measures for utilities optimization.

The final report delivered a total of 9 distinct Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs). If fully implemented, these measures have the potential to achieve up to 20% in total energy savings for the tower. This significant reduction will directly contribute to lower operational costs and a reduced carbon footprint, reinforcing UDC Tower's role as a model for environmental stewardship.

These findings provide the UDC Tower with a clear, actionable roadmap for implementing impactful changes, further solidifying its commitment to sustainability in the region.
