EEG carried out the Energy,Water and Carbon audits for Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon

Nestled in the heart of Portugal's vibrant capital, the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon has stood as a landmark property since its inception in 1959. Perched atop one of Lisbon's seven hills, it offers sweeping vistas of Eduardo VII Park, the city's historic landmarks, and the picturesque Tagus River.

Spanning 16 floors with a total built area of 55,766 m2, the hotel boasts 282 guest rooms and suites, along with 4 dining options. Its amenities include a luxurious four-treatment-room spa, featuring an 18m indoor lap pool, an outdoor pool, and a sprawling 700m2 fitness area, complete with a 400-meter outdoor running track on the rooftop. Additionally, the hotel provides 1635m2 of versatile function spaces. 

Over the past 5 years, the property has undergone extensive renovations, elevating the guest experience by refurbishing rooms, introducing a new Michelin-starred restaurant, CURA, and adding a new outdoor pool complemented by a stylish pool bar. The lobby has been upgraded with cutting-edge technologies, solidifying its reputation as the city's premier luxury destination with distinctive year-round outdoor terrace facilities. 

Moreover, Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon, following the "Four Seasons for Good" program is committed to preserving and regenerating the environment and leaving a positive, enduring impact on the local community, to sustainability and energy efficiency, with notable initiatives such as:

  • Extensive use of LED lighting throughout
  • Implementation of chiller heat recovery systems
  • Utilization of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS)
  • Installation of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) on most pumps and fans

Aligned with the luxury hospitality company's environmental objectives, EEG led an ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit, a comprehensive water audit, and a zero-carbon transition plan. This initiative culminated in the development of a roadmap featuring various Energy Efficiency and Water Conservation Measures, highlighting the hotel's steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship.
