In September 2016, EEG was awarded the energy audit contract at the new ART Rotana Hotel in Amwaj islands Bahrain which started operation in 2014.
Amwaj Islands is a group of man-made Islands in the northeast region in Bahrain and only few minutes’ drive from Bahrain International Airport. The property has about 50,000 m2 of cooled area on a total built up area of 80,000m2; it includes 311 luxurious rooms and suites along 8 international outlets and more than 3000m2 of state of the art meeting rooms and ballrooms. In addition, there are five pools among them three that are heated or cooled across the year to maintain a fixed temperature.
In the current challenging times when the Kingdom of Bahrain is slowly removing electricity subsidies and tariffs are increasing, properties are facing increased utilities cost and are looking to optimize all their infrastructure.
It is in this background that EEG has been engaged to undertake a comprehensive Energy Audit tackling all the property’s utilities including Electricity, LPG, and Water.
EEG’s energy audit standards are mostly aligned to ASHRAE’s Level III energy auditing and the final report will provide ART Rotana a detailed analysis of the current situation, a 360° coverage, and a clear road map of all potential efficiency measures with the needed technical and economical feasibilities.
It is to be noted that this is the second energy audit contract awarded to EEG in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2016 after the completion of similar work for the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay last month.
