Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort, a luxury five-star destination nestled along the hidden valleys of the Hajar Mountains in the United Arab Emirates, has successfully completed a comprehensive ASHRAE Level 2 Energy Audit. This initiative marks a significant step in the resort’s journey toward operational excellence and environmental sustainability in the Northern Emirates.
A Coastal Sanctuary Between Mountains and Sea
Opened in 2016, Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort is a flagship luxury property on the Dibba coastline. The resort is a sophisticated architectural landmark, comprising a main hotel building and the adjacent, vibrant Lava Beach Club complex. Spanning a built-up area of 36,498 m² , the property features 181 guest rooms and suites, each offering private terraces with panoramic views of the Arabian Sea or the surrounding rugged mountains.
The resort is renowned for its diverse leisure and dining ecosystem. From the all-day dining at Canvas Restaurant to the award-winning seafood at The Copper Lobster, the property caters to a high-end international clientele. Its recreational heart consists of two distinct pool experiences: the high-energy Lava Pool at the Beach Club—featuring an infinity-style pool and dedicated kids’ area—and the tranquil Canvas Pool, which offers a serene adults-only retreat and private sun decks.

A Commitment to Environmental Stewardship
Aligned with Fairmont’s legacy of environmental leadership and Accor’s Sustainable Hospitality framework, Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort has implemented key initiatives centered on three pillars: Stay, Eat, and Explore.
Audit Conclusion: A Roadmap to 21% Energy Savings
To further optimize its resource performance and align with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategic initiative, Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort partnered with EEG to conduct a detailed Level 2 Energy and Water Audit.
The project was successfully completed in Q4 of 2025. The final assessment delivered to the resort’s management provides a targeted roadmap of 20 distinct Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs). These recommendations focus on optimizing the resort's major mechanical systems, lighting, and thermal envelope.
If fully implemented, these measures have the potential to deliver an 21% reduction in total electricity consumption and a 22% saving on total annual utility costs.
This data-driven strategy provides Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort with the actionable insights required to significantly reduce its carbon footprint while enhancing long-term operational resilience, further solidifying its position as a leader in luxury sustainable tourism in Fujairah.
